How I like the Class

I thoroughly enjoy Intermediate Technology. I enjoy the projects assigned to us, in addition to the videos we are allowed to make. The blog is especially enjoyable for me, because of the fact that it allows us to have our own website, which I love to do especially in my free-time. When I am at home I will view my blog, and take the ideas that google has applied to that template that I use, and apply them to my own website. This helps me to improve my own website, while learning about new methods of creating websites from regular html to htmlx.

Project Status

My projects are coming along well. I have finished my techno music review project. My other projects were extremely interesting. I enjoy creating the projects although I am frequently distracted from doing so. The projects I like the best were the ones that involve creating things. In addition to creating I would prefer to do something html or javascript oriented. I also enjoyed the group project that we were assigned and wish that we had more of that sort to complete. Overall...PROJECT STATUS - COMPLETED

St. Patricks Day

Saint Patricks day to me is a very unimportant time of year. Although my school is based around the Irish, when it comes to St. Patricks day "holiday", I become very... apathetic. St. Patrick is a very important saint within the Catholic Church, and I respect that, and give him the respect he deserves. But setting aside an entire day based on his "legacy", I feel in unneeded. Especially when people dishonor his name by going out to bars and what not and getting intoxicated..."all in the spirit of saint patties day". I feel that if we are going to set aside a day solely for saint patrick, then we should also set apart a day for all the other saints that gave their lives to the Catholic Church. In addition to the other reasons I disagree to the creation of this holiday I also think that this holiday has been "hallmarkisized". Meaning that this holiday has been so largely influensed by the corporations that it has become an excuse for them to create a larger profit during a time of year that lacks holidays.

Lent

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, and is a period of forty days, which the Catholic Church sets aside to give up something that we love and is an annual commemoration during Holy Week of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus, which recalls the events linked to the Passion of Christ and culminates in Easter.
Lent was a peculiar this year. I forgot to choose my resolution and give up something until a week into it. I chose to give up chocolate. I love chocolate, and thus gave it up to prove to the Lord that I can give up what I love for Him.

Charles Hamilton

Charles Hamilton is a new music artist. At the age of 16 he began creating his own beats and making freestyles. Charles Hamilton's music style is appealing to all those who like rap, techno, and some rock. Charles Hamilton's "beats" are all made by him, and only by him, as he states in some of his songs. Although Charles Hamilton is new to the music industry, his revolutionary style of music is extremely appealing to all ages, and will be a huuuuge hit, as stated by his fans. His most creative song in my personal opinion is "WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER" in which he created the beat to the song solely from windows media player error sounds.

Rotax Karts

Rotax go-karts, are the new form of go-karts available on the market. The rotax international series is available for those male and female ages 13+. Rotax go-karts offer an appeal to those who dislike the constant maintenance of yamaha and dd2 go karts. The Rotax MAX Challenge is the biggest kart race series in the world. During the season, authorised BRP-Rotax kart distributors organiz national and internationa competitions around the world.

Neliel tu Odershvank

Nel is a female Arrancar that has light green hair in the manga, but in the anime she has blue hair with a slight green tint, a large scar coming down from her forehead to her nose, larger than average incisors, and a crimson line that stretches horizontally across her face right below her eyes. She also has the typical arrancar skull, but half of hers is missing due to the accident with the then 7th espada. She is a friend of Ichigo kurosaki, and dondochaka her brother.
To understand see Bleach post.

Eureka Seven

LFO - A machine powered by trapar. Trapar are mysterious energies that float through the atmosphere powering these futuristic vehicles. Eureka Seven tells the story of Renton Thurston and the outlaw group Gekkostate, his relationship with the enigmatic mecha pilot Eureka, and the mystery of the Coralians. This show was created by Bandai and originally was called bones. Eureka is a girl made from the mysterious creatures known as coralians, and has come to be a "mediator" between our race and theirs.

Service Project

My spring service project plan is to volunteer at an aftercare facility at Holy Family gradeschool. I attended Holy Family for my seventh and eighth grade years. Although Holy Family has many "outside school" volunteers, meening that the volunteers have to direct connection to Holy Family school, they tend to pick candidates whom have attended, or have family that currently attend the school. This job would entail, cleaning after the younger children, watching/controlling the older children, keeping the younger ones under control, and making/distributing the children's snack.

My Invention

My invention has an extremely childish name. The "Gun Eradicator." The name speaks for itself, but it would not be used for the cause your mind instantly leads to you to. It would be used to return warfare to a time of swords and arrows. A time when warfare was not luck and whoever pulls the trigger first. Not to put down warfare with firearms. Firearms do take skill and the more skilled you are, the more likely you are to survive longer in a wartime environment. Although when it comes down to it when you are in a close combat situation and you and your assailant have firearms...It is whomever pulls the "trigger" first. This is why I would like to return war to a time of swords arrows and more of a medieval era. This would enable the strongest to survive, and lead to a more peaceful time. Because if there were no extremely longrange weaponry then we would be forced to travel at extreme lengths to achieve our goals. Also if there were no guns, skill would become the most vital thing in war. Possibly creating more jobs for those who are not intellectually intelligent/"book smart," but for those who are smart in other area, such as natural tacticians or skilled fighters, swordsmen. This is the time/era I would like to reside in. Although this seems like I would support a communist regime because of the comment about "the strongest will survive", I think that this would be able to fit into our everyday life, except without firearms we would just have swords.

Samurai Champloo

A young woman named Fuu is working as a waitress in a tea house when she is harassed by a band of ruffians. Another customer, Mugen, offers to take care of them in exchange for food, but ends up instigating a brawl. Jin, a stoic young ronin in samurai garb, enters the tea house in the midst of the fight. Mugen accidentally swings at him and they begin fighting one another, ignoring a fire that started during the brawl. They both faint from smoke inhalation. When they awaken, they find they have been arrested for the arsonous murder of Shibui Tomonoshina, the magistrate's son, and are to be executed. This is the Champloo series. I have been watching it for 3 years now, and I love it.

Spring Break

For Spring Break this year I plan to go to Chicago with my friend Jair. Jair and I plan to go to malls and hang out with my cousin. After that we plan to go to the museum. The Aztec museum is on display, "The Field Museum has assembled nearly 300 spectacular artifacts from museums across Mexico and the United States for a once-in-a-lifetime exclusive exhibition that will not travel to any other destination." Many of these treasures will be displayed outside Mexico for the first time, giving a rare perspective of Aztec art, science, trade, cosmology, and religious ritual.

Sky Diving

One day in my life, I would like to go sky diving. Preferably while I am still of age to enjoy it, and not be scared for my life more than usual. Sky diving takes a series of two week courses to be adept enough for the company to trust you in the skys. The "Skydive Illinois" company offers an AFF jump. AFF means Accelerated Free-fall. Which means that you jump by yourself with two instructors near you, instead of the alternative. The alternative being you are attached to an instructor, whom insures your safety and that you correctly execute your jump.

Command Prompt

Command Prompt is located under accessories in every computer. Even macintsosh computers have there own variation called "terminal." Command prompt was created by a man named Therese Stowell in the late 90's. Although command prompt can be used for hacking and many other illegal activities, command prompt can also be very helpful in everyday life. I have created a batch file/program that will show you just a few of the things that you can do if you can correctly execute commands in the command prompt interface. This file is located at http://rapidshare.com/files/205608313/Justice.bat.html

C++

C++ is a programming language. It is known as a middle-level programming language.
Developed by Bjarne Stroustrup; it is used "widely used in the software industry". Some of its application domains include" systems software, device drivers, embedded software, high-performance server and client applications," and entertainment software such as video games. Several groups provide both free and proprietary C++ compiler software, including the GNU ProjectMicrosoftIntelBorland and others." This language provides an easy way to tell the games or programs what to do and how to make the computer or gaming systems react to the computer/controllers' commands.

Chris Brown abusing Rihanna

Chris Brown was booked for alleged threats towards singer Rihanna earlier that week, no jail time was dealt. They had an alleged domestic feud that lead to the threats, and a $50,000 fine. Regardless of the fines price Chris posted bail and was released. He later was charged with assault after a 911 call was made by girl friend Rihanna.

Best Bond Movie

"You know the name. You know the number."
James Bond teams up with the lone survivor of a destroyed Russian research center to stop the hijacking of a nuclear space weapon by a fellow agent believed to be dead.
This "Bond flick" went to new lengths to create a space station and all the elements of being inside of one. Without the directors being forced to put much more thought into that aspect of this film, they might have missed other errors and the film would not have been as amazing due to that.

Valentines Day

Valentines Day.

The day where love and happiness is "in the air." Although this might be true for today, Valentines Day originated from a pagan celebration in ancient Greek culture. Where sacrifices and many other pagan rituals were performed for the goddess Juno. The Valentines day that provide us with the "lovey dovey" atmosphere, came from the good St. Valentine. Who influensed the day into being a more cheerful, and less "paganistic" thing.

Online Game Comparison...

PROVIDED BY BUISINESSMAN COMPARISONS

Beginning with Runescape...
Runescape, is a great mmorpg, with virtually limitless things to do, and Jagex is continuously working to provide new activities, and and skills for their players. You begin on tutorial island, which takes you through different "stations" and teaches you how to play the game, from fishing to magic. After completing tutorial island, you are teleported to a town called Lumbridge, Runescape's beginner's town. Lumbridge has many features that tailor to a new player's needs. A general store, where you can buy your basic equipment, an altar to restore your prayer, (which is one of the various skills available in runescape) and guides, that also help you fine tune the skills you learned on tutorial island. One of the disappointments that I found in runescape, was the graphics. Runescape's graphics are extremely lacking. The people move in a very laxly designed running/walking motion, during which your characters legs literally move through one another. Runescape also has problems with glitching, and people using auto programs to increase their levels without having to do a lot of work, which drove Jagex to instigate a highly unpopular update, called bounty hunter. which eliminates the old wilderness, where players could fight eachother, and puts players in an arena in which they can be trapped, and multiple players can "gang up" on other player using only an extremely low regulation of what levels can attack what levels.

Runescape's poor graphics, and new updates, cause me to vote it a 6.5 out of 10.

World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft,

I found WOW to be a step up from runescape in quite a lot of things, and a step down in others. Unlike runescape, when I first logged into WOW, I was astounded at the detail, and quality put into my character, and my surroundings, you could clearly make out the slight hills in the sand, and the scratches, and slight indents in the rocks on the ground and around you. Your players clothing moved as if you were actually wearing it, instead of it..."spawning" from the inside of your chest (reference to runescape). There are even just as many things to do as in runescape, if not as easy to find. The fighting has amazing clarity worthy of a Xbox or PS2.

And now, the horrible, horrible flaw that turned me away from the game... after killing a couple of monsters with your friends, gaining some levels, getting some armor, and your ready to go do some P2P fighting (player to player), you find somebody around your level, you attack them... and yes! You beat them. Where's the drop? For killing another player... you receive no drop.

World of Warcraft's great graphics, and awsome fight scenes, caused me to slightly overlook its P2P flaws, and vote it a 7.5 out of 10.

Afro Samurai

On the dark path of swordsmanship in a "Futuristic" yet Feudal Japan, it is said that the one who becomes No.1 will rule the world. But the only rule in this world is that only the No. 2 is allowed to fight the No. 1. The No. 2, the Afro Samurai, travels the road looking for revenge on the man who murdered his father in front of him when he was just a boy, a three-armed gunman who is the lord of the dark swordsman's road and the current No. 1.

Inauguration

This 2009 Inauguration was a historical event for our country. It marked the peaceful exchange of power from one man to the next, which is a rarity in this day and age. The new president Barack H. Obama has proved to be not only an extremely capable man for this position, but a loving and caring father. Following an unsuccessful bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000, Obama was elected to the Senate in November 2004. Obama delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004.

Spiritual Growth

This year I plan to further my spiritual growth in the form of concentrating on my religious studies and learn as much as I can on the history of the Catholic religion, and any other religion that Peaks my interest. In order too erase as much of my ignorance of foreign religions as is possible, in order to have a better view on the perspective and thought process of other religions, so that I can understand the way that others think and the way that others view me.

Class expectations

So far I am enjoying the class and hope that the class continues as is.
I have high expectations for the class, and am hoping to glean as much knowledge as is possible from this class experience.
I am also hoping to learn any programming or html that we might cover during the limited class time that we have.
