Actors like Heath Ledger R.I.P., and Philip Seymour Hoffman competing against each other for Actor in a Supporting Role, and great actresses like Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet and Anne Hathaway, all competing or Actress in a supporting role. Regarding Actor in  a supporting role. The popular pick was between Heath Ledger and Philip Seymour Hoffman, Heath taking the award. Actress in a leading role was dominated by Maryl Streep.
